    Lightbulb Exhaust

So NorCalSRT, had a question on his exhaust. That made me think then made me want to ask a question. lol Mo' Fockie!

    He mentioned drone and reso's?

    1) What is drone?
    2) What are reso's?

I got a stock MSRT if I remove the "reso's" will this make my exhaust louder? How hard is it to do?

Drone is a low frequency noise (like a hum) that can be annoying as hell. The resonators are at the rear of the exhaust system just prior to the tips.

If you remove the resonators, it may make your system a bit louder but the drone will SUCK!

The reso's "resonators" are right behind the tips. They look just like mufflers. I took the reso's off of my SRT and the drone is terrible. Some of the interior panels rattle, and it just doesn't sound good. Drone is a low, overwhelming frequency that you hear between 1900 and 2100 RPM.

Bizz----I'm in the same boat, however the resos were already gone when I bought the car. The original owner did that, as well as install Flowmasters, so the thing was just way too loud on all fronts. About 6 months ago I took it in to a local shop and had them replace the Flowmaster with a stock SRT muffler. That made a big difference, however I still have that horrible drone at the low RPMs like you do.....

Hopefully this weekend will work out and I'll get a new cat-back system. 4Wheel Parts is having their Monster sale up here in San Jose (they may be having this at all locations), where they have great deals on install, products, etc. They carry Magnaflow and Corsa, so I'm gonna see what kind of deal I can get....

Yeah I have to change my system too. I might just throw the old resos back on. Ahhh that's too quiet though. I might have to drop some money on a catback system.

Don't go with Zoomers if u want a quiet ride. Borla or Corsa is the best of both worlds!

When I think of Magnaflow, I think of rust.

Safe to say that their "lifetime warranty" doesn't cover rust?
