So I thought read on some previous thread someone say you gotta run 89 in the 3.5 well Ive only had my car 4 tanks now and use 87 I see no probs but should I switch to 89????
I bought mine used and the previous owner used 87. I had to get the entire engine cleaned (cylinders and valves and all) due to the build-up. For the extra $1.50 a tank, I use 89.

I found this the other day.

I didn't know about the 87 vs 89, but I just switched the other day to 89. I have been running 87 most of the time, but if I find a good price on the 89 I will fill her up. But she is on 89 now and I only have just a little over 6k miles on.
I was just going to create a post on this topic. I have had my Mag 3.5 for just over a month and have been running 87, but I just filled up with 89 and I will probably go mid-grade from now on. Has anyone had any luck with the Lucas fuel injector/cylinder cleaner? I have used it in all previous cars, but have heard a few horror stories with some picky engines.
VINNIEJ how much did it cost you to get the engine cleaned????? Yeah what about those engine cleaner that you put in your tank before you fill up??? Any advice on that?

It was warranty, it happened a week after I bought it. but I got a multi cylinder missfire and it was buckin' and fightin' me the entire 100yrds to the dealer (I lived right next door to the dealer when I lived up north). I actually had doubts I would make it to the dealer with how bad it was acting up.
Anyway, I imagine it wouldn't be cheap to get done (maybe a couple hundred bucks).
