3.5L Mods Collection

Squeeg,

I have been searching high and low for the best combination of mods for the 3.5L Magnum but can't seem to find a single source of information. Lets use this thread to start the most envious collection of mods for the 3.5L. Try to include pictures, price, part numbers, level of difficulty and most importantly - your opinion on performance after the mod. I personally don't own any of these mods, but I am interested in just how much we can gain by having them.

For starter mods, I found the Jet 90405, stage 1 chip for about $198 at http://www.performancecenter.com. Jet claims about 10Hp gains with no other mods.

If you want to "live on the edge", you could get the Jet 90405, stage 2 chip for about $205 at http://www.performancecenter.com. Jet claims about 20Hp gains when combined with premium fuel, exhaust and CAI.
Borla BOR140161 cat back (+16hp) - $726
AirRaid CAI EGP350-171 kit (+10hp) - $140 at http://www.performancecenter.com

Total price with an estimated 20-30HP gain = $1072

That's a pretty steep price to pay, but if anyone has any experience with any of the mods, please share!!!

Boy, I'd love for them to prove those numbers on a regular basis, computer modeling is great, but I highly doubt in the real world you'll see that. Dyno the car before and after the upgrades and see. Dont do them both at once, just one at a time to see what you gain. Theres no way you'll get that type of gain.
Everything I have heard thus far with CAI is a nice sound.. and maybe (just maybe) a slight gain in preformance. Most people on another forum (which is very active) will mostly agree its all pyscological. Tey hear the difference and 'think' theres a gain. If anything do the exhaust first. A better breathing car will always give you a better gain in performance. Remove the 'air silencer', if your car is an '05, that will help with bringing air in.

Keep us posted

so witht he stage II your car is still a dog out of the HolE?

whats your set up?..did you program the tranny as well?

also..an fyi..as I am sure you are aware..the larger the tire..the slower the car is..

bigger the wheel the more effort to spin the wheel..
the smaller the wheel..the quicker off the line.....

I have added the Magnaflow exhaust for the 3.5 and will be throwing in the K&N intake this weekend. The exhaust doesn't give the sound of a 5.9 or 6.1, but it ain't to bad. The CAI should give some good sound too. I doubt the numbers improve that much, but thats why the next step is a supercharger. LOL
