Nitrous

Was wondering if anyone has installed nitrous yet on Magnum RT? I have been looking around for nitrous companies for the RT and I keep getting things about the ZEX nitrous. Anyone know if thats a good one or are there others out there such as NOS?

Write up from another forum - This should answer a lot of your questions.

Here is what I used:

ZEX Universal Nitrous kit + all Zex Accessories
Remote Bottle Opener
Blowdown Tube
Bottle Heater
Purge Kit
Jetted currently for a 75hp shot.
I also bypassed the ZEX Throttle Position Switch and did a pedal switch for WOT positioning.

Well after the hell I went through to get it installed... I finally got to try it out on my way home from CA today!

It isn't the throw you back in your seat kind of upgrade I was hoping it would be but I can definately tell the difference. I tried it a few times on the highway. Once from 80, 70, and 90. The 80 to 100 run that used to take forever comes a lot faster now. The 2gear downshift at 70 is even more awesome.

I also tried it from 30mph to catch the downshift back to first. Wow.

As soon as I floor it and the nitrous hits the engine, the exhaust just freakin screams and you can hear it injecting under the hood.

I haven't tried it off the line yet.

The longest I held it down for was about 5 seconds. I am waiting on my colder plugs before I run it longer. Even though it sounded great and I didn't hear any knocking or pinging, I still want those colder plugs before I push it.

Now the big question. Was it worth it? As of right now, HELL YEAH. But we will truely see, when I hit the track!

Well that sure helped. ALOT! Thanks and I know the ZEX can be adjusted from a 75 shot to a 125 shot but am REALLY curious as to what happens when that one is all completed and set for the 125 shot . Thanks again!

No problem - I do know that he is going to set his at the highest shot when he gets it to the track. I'll let you know of the outcome.
