I found this cool thing when I went to the LVMS strip to race 1/4 mile, they have a race on Sept 27 where you can race your car to go as fast as you can/want/can handle, it's a 1 mile strip on the Airforce runway at the Nellis Air Force Base, one vehicle at a time, no E.T., top speed is all that matters.
"Safety equipment and experience determine how fast you are allowed to go"
Deadline to register is Sept 18.
It's called the "High Roller mile shootout" hrmsforms
Am I going?, no!, because I already registered my car for this car show: Super Run
it would be cool, but there is no way in hell i am paying over $150.00 just to drive my car straight down the runway that i watch my jets take off and land on everyday!!!! might go just to watch though!!!!
Could never do it even if I wanted too, because for the street classes, it has to be OEM size tires and be totally stock with no non-oem power adders and no mechanical mod, and if you go up one class you can have only one non-oem power adder, and if you go up one more class you need a roll cage and a driveshaft loop, DAMN THOSE RULES ARE STUPID AS HELL!
Ever been there?
I wish I could go, but I have to go to my car show, which I already paid for.
I'll try next time, I wonder if I can hit 160mph
actually have went this year...i good friend of mine has a turbo hayabusa with juice and wanted to see how fast it could go but he is a little on the heavy side and wouldnt sign up cause he figured he couldnt top it out = so i told him to sign up and pay all the fees and i will ride it. well he did and i did 2 passes first was just the turbo and hit 202 or so and the on the next past (an hour later, needed to relax a little LOL) was like 245 (+/-) both were waaay faster than i was expecting or would ever like to go on two wheels
