HL goes drag racing!

Yup, hit the track tonight for the first time in my Mag, and the first time in about 20 years! Drag Night at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma....kind of a regular wednesday night thing over the summer. Infineon is a kick-a$$ facility; NASCAR, CART, NHRA all happen here. Went with a group of NorCal LX'ers and had a blast!! There were a ton of cars there racing, all "staged up" ready to run... I got 4 runs and was "eliminated" in round 1. I sucked, but not bad for the first time out, best time 14.377 @ 96.92. I have a lot to learn about racing but a couple dudes in the club are pretty good - one took 3rd overall last week. Heres some pics of the staging area (oh and I beat that silver vette in run #2!!), sorry no pics of the action since I was drivin!!

People laughed at Jeff's bag-o-ice ....but he laid down a 13.2 so who be laughin now!

Me too! I need your help .....why am I still in the 14's when I have so many performance mods, or is 14.3 a respectable time for lead sled magnum?

Seeing that we are going through some freaky heat wave here in Cali...

1. HEAT SOAK
2. Altitude
3. Traction
4. HEAT SOAK

Compare your times to the times of the SRT's out there...I'm GUESSING they were running anywhere between 12.5-13.xx seconds...depending on their mods and prep prior to running..

Thanks Moe! I run a 176 t-stat and the coolit fan mod - my temps at the start line were at 170 with the fans running on high. Warmed up my tires and didn't even chirp off the line, and ESP was fully off (noesp mod). It's probably driving skill at this point...
