RT vs WRX.

EDITED 10/13: I raced a WRX for real, see post #42.

I was at a red light on a wide blvd going left (3 lanes going left), average car on the left, WRX sti on the right, light turned green, I took off like a mad man without breaking the speed limit doing 45, wrx guy woke up, didn't expect a wagon to take off hard like a mofo , passed me doing 60+ turbo screaming and all, slowed down, rode next to me, floored it, slowed downed again, he was looking for it, but I ignored him, and I lost him at the next light when I made my turn and he kept going straight.
I'm just happy I caught him by surprise and I probably pissed him off by not accepting his challenge , as if I was gonna win anyway, furthermore, I didn't want to draw attention to myself with those cops hiding around...
From now on, I'm sure he'll be more aware of the LX family.

I haven't raced those before... r they really that fast? I'm surprised HemiLover at your statement? Like I said hadn't raced em b4... anyone got a pic so I can look out for 'em... I'd certainly give it a try Way to open their eyes though.... and I agree with Phaelan, IMO i think you would;ve surprised him even more!

I did however have the opportunity to smoke a hooked up civic! That thing was loud, let him catch up and pass me then just walked him down and blew by before I had to slowwwwww real hard cause 3 cops were on the other side of the road!

The "regular" WRX's arn't too bad, only 220hp. The WRX STI's are the ones to look out for. 300hp stock, and the AWD gives them the hole shot every time.

0-60 in 4.7Sec, that's SRT8 territory, RT is good but one second too slow, plus with their awd I can forget about getting the jump ahead.2006-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi - Modern Racer - Auto Archive

I actually thought about buying an sti, but I wanted auto with paddle shifters, and when the Magnums came out I fell in love with them, I thought rwd american V8 cars were dead, so when they came out with the LX models I couldn't wait to get one. Plus I like the room the mag offers with seats down and all, and since I don't like SUV's, I really like my station wagon (it's keeper for me)

Okay... I Have seen those before!!! and you're right.... fast as SH*T! what is the noise I hear when they're shifting gears??? Don't even know how to describe the sound... sounds like a lot of air getting sucked in or something and blown out..... saw one going the opposite way as me at a light and that thing took off! I had no idea what the hell it was andit was loud!

I think your talking about the blow-off valve. It releases excess pressure from the turbo between shifts. Some after market ones are over sized and make a hell of a noise.
