Holeshot

Anybody know if you can get a better Holeshot with or without the ESP on. I havnt had a chance at the track yet b ut wanted use my track time wisely. I assume having the trraction cntrl on would result in more consisten runs.

If yer tires are gripping, it won't make a difference.

Working the track one night, a guy in his SRT-8 Charger was running very consitant 13.5's, all night long. Tried it with ESP on and off, and it never made a difference. Yet like I was saying, he was getting traction, even without a burnout.

I haven't been to the track either, but I have heard most turn theirs off. If the traction is there, I guess it wouldn't matter. If I try to launch on the street with it off, I go up in smoke and get sideways. Track should have a better launch area.

Leaving it on costs me a 0.1 at the strip in my RT.

I think you want the ESP off. If the ESP is on and you do start to loose traction the engine will back off until you regain traction and that will cost you in the ET department but you also need to remember that if you spin the tire to much it will cost you ET but your MPH will go up. You need track time to learn your car and adjust to the track conditions and temp. Good Luck and just have a good time. One thing is for sure most cars that are fast at the track are slower on the street and cars that are fast on the street slow down at the track.

Sounds like GREAT fun, either way !!! I haven't messed with my ESP, but only a couple of times on the street and have NEVER held it in until it shut off completely.... YET!!! LOL

If you lose control and you have the esp on you will do 10x worse because it retards your car so that you stop losing control. I would go with the traction control off.
