Saw this on the news last night....his car was nice from what they showed. Can't say I wouldn't do the same for my Maggie!
SAN DIEGO -- A former security guard was arrested Monday for allegedly aiming a handgun at a tow truck driver who was attempting to repossess hisDodge Magnum and firing one shot before trying to flee in the car.
David Santoro, 54, allegedly confronted the tow truck driver as he was hooking up Santoro's Dodge for repossession outside an apartment complex at Kenora Drive and Dale Avenue in Casa de Oro about 9:30 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Marco Garmo.
When the tow driver ignored his protests, Santoro allegedly threatened to get a gun, then went back to his apartment and returned with a 9mm semi- automatic pistol, Garmo said.
Santoro allegedly aimed the gun at the driver, but it was unclear whether he was pointing the weapon at the driver or in the air when he fired one shot, which did not hit anyone, the sergeant said.
Santoro then fled the apartment complex in the Magnum, but he was pulled over by California Highway Patrol officers at Broadway and Sweetwater Road in Lemon Grove, Garmo said.
Santoro is expected to face a number of charges, including attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm within county limits, Garmo said. He also had an expired permit for use of a collapsible police baton that deputies found in his possession, the sergeant said.

That is the risk the repo man takes. If that was your private property he came on, then I am sure he would not be arrested for pointing a gun. There was a ring of tow truck drivers sometime ago, stealing cars by towing them. If you have a repo man come on your property, you can tell him to leave, and he has to. Of course he just needs to go get the police and come back.
Have you seen the repo show on cable? A lot of what I saw was totally illegal. They have to remove the vehicle by non violent means. Meaning if the owner confronts them, they have to leave without the car. But like the other poster said they can always come back with the police to get it.
