Installing FOG Projector Headlights...

I reinstalled my projector headlights this morning, so I thought I would do a how-to on the install. There are two ways to do the install, without removing the fascia and taking that fascia off. I am also doing some grill work today so I removed it.

If you don't remove the fascia protect the paint with a towel so you can get at the lower screw.

There are only two screws that hold the lights in place, one underneath the light and the other at the top inner corner. You will need an 8mm or TORX T30 socket to remove the screws. If you put a little tape on the end of the TORX socket it will keep the screw with the socket and you would loose it in the fascia. Once the screws are off give the light a slight pull straight out, as there is a locater clip in the fender. You will also need to give a bump when you install the new light.

You should remove the six fascia clips so you can get some space to get at the lower screw. They should pop right out.

You need to connect the three black wire together in a wire connector, and the two reds with the white in another connector. These will be tied into the parking light wires next.

Tie the black wires into the black wire on the parking light and the other bundle into the brown wire. I used quick splices with a sort piece of wire, so if I needed to remove the lights I wouldn't have to cut any wires.
The red wire is turn signals, don't tie into it or all your lights will flash....
After the connections are completed install the new lights and you are ready to roll. You will reuse your parking and marker lights, the projectors come with new low and high beam bulbs.

Here they are installed, I changed out the clear LED bulbs along the top for a set of amber ones.

The parking light is the amber bulb and you tie into the black and brown wires on the stock wiring harness.

Thanks You SOCALRT. I installed my projector lights with HID and it is amazing. I know this is worthless without pics and i will post some later. FYI i bought the kit from powerimports on Ebay and they are true plug and play HID. No flickering at all. pics as sson as it gets dark. Gracias socal.

Hey great post! I am a little new to installs and I was wondering if I could get a little help here with the install?

Which brown and black wires are the parking light wires? I see 2 brown wires, 2 black wires, and 1 red wire. I know not to use the red wire as you said it is for the turn signal. Is the smaller bulb the amber bulb to plug into (parking light)? I just want to confirm this before I start splicing.

Thanks for your help and time!

The small bulb is the side marker light, which is on the same circuit as the parking lights. I used the larger of the two bulbs and spliced into the wiring there...
