Hello all, gotta a possible problem with the front end.
I have a 2007 Magnum R/T with just a little over 5,000 miles on the odometer. I upgraded to 20" Charger wheels, tires are 245/45x20's, used, but with decent tread depth.
I get an occasional shimmy, particularly when driving on concrete pavement, with cut rain grooves @ approximately 65-70 MPH. Shimmy goes away below and above that speed and never seems to occurr on asphalt pavement.
I read about tie rod ends being the culprit on some cars, but thought might be a little soon on mine.
Alignment appears to be within specs, tires aren't feathered or cupped.
Any thoughts? Dealer just shrugs their shoulders and say "can't duplicate problem".
What kind of wear are on the tires? I just put on new rubber on the front. I had basically slicks hahha. I had the same 70mph centered shimmy. Now its gone. I had the tire guy check the balance on the tires before removing the tires and he said it was good.
hello with only 5000 miles on the ride i am not feeling it could be the tie rods i guess we should start at the beginning have you check the tire pressure if thats good i would rotate the tires and see how it feels pm sent
I would guess that you would have a balance issue. Did you get the shimmy before you put on the 20's? If not, then that's a pretty good indication that the issues is with the tires, not the car. If you still have the old wheels, put them back on to compare.
Also, keep in mind that the stock R/T wheels have a pretty sizable sidewall that soaks up a lot of vibration. The lower profile on the 20's will trasmit more vibration through the car.

I checked for missing weights, all were there. I bought these from a member on LX Forums, he was very honest.
The wheels had been off his car, in a garage for a while before being sold.
Tires are 245/45x20, Goodyear RS-A's and appear to have about 50% tread left.
Checked tire pressure, all good.
Looks like they'd been brushed against a curb, not bad... but I think I'll check the run out too...
Thankz for the ideas... I'll switch out tires to old ones, see if wiggle goes away..
I share this problem as well. I'm smooth to 70mph or so the I start to get a get a little vib. Also my front right tire has much more wear on the inside than the others. Had the alignment checked and wheel balance check. Both were good. With the tire sensors, I make sure I maintain good tire pressure. I was looking at tires on DiscountTire.com and while reading the comments on the Goodyear Supercar tires I read someone talking about a factory defect with the tie rod ends or something. I've been trying to find it again.
