Question Are the front struts part of the load leveling system?

First, thanks to all of you who answered my question about lowering an RT with the load leveling system in it. I believe the answer to my next question will be no, but are the front struts part of the load leveling system? My guess is that in order to lower the car, as everyone has indicated, I have to change the rear shocks to eliminate the load leveling system option. I just want to make sure I don't have to change the front struts as well and can just change the springs up front. Thanks again for your advice!

If your lowering your car, You really should consider changing your front struts also and here's why. The stock struts weren't made to work with lowereing springs. They are too soft and don't have enough dampening. As a result you will more than likely have your fenders bounce/rub the tires when lowered, bending the fenders. The likelyhood of this happening depends on the condition of the stock struts, your driving style and the where you drive. (whatever the condition, they will get worse) You have an option to roll the fenders. That will help with the tire rubbing but won't improve your bounce/ride. If your going to replace the rear shocks, it would be best to replace all 4 at the same time. Besides, if your having the work done and paying for it, it would be cheaper (and easier) to have the struts replaced while the front is already apart. Just my advice cause I 've been there and done that. Good luck to you!

Fireman, when you lowered your car at first with the Nivomats still on, you didnt get any lower at all? I saw the difference of the drop once they were out, but it still looked a little lower than stock with the Nivomats on.

Yeah, maybe 1/2" to 1" with the Nivomats, it varied. Still had that 1" to 1 1/2" gap that I wanted to get rid of.
