Well, after everything installed last night on my way to work I decided to open it up a little after I got onto the highway going through town. In town the speed limit is only 35MPH, so I didn't have much chance to really open it up from a rolling start after I turned on, but once I straightened up from the turn I punched it without any tire spin, (like I had planned/intended). Right at the point where I had to let off for the speed limit my traction control light turned on from my tires breaking free at around 30/35MPH right when I hit my powerband....so that was most definately a very noticed improvement!!!! I am yet to get into it from a rolling start up to 60MPH or so just to see how hard it pulls. Sure enough today it's been raining, so I haven't had much opportunity to test anything out because of the obviously wet roads.
I am really hoping to be able to scratch 2nd gear. If that doesn't end out happening what minimal mods would it require to accomplish this? I'm thinking just new gears, but perhaps there's other things out there....suggestions? experiences?..............
That's great!....I forgot to mention...
I'm not sure if the SRT has the "Autostick auto upshift" mode option in the transmission settings. If it does, select "mode 1". This will allow you to keep the transmission in the selected gear when in manual mode rather than automatically up shifting at certain RPMs

I recently picked up the tranzformer. It's a programmer for the nag1. Can set shift points and firmness to get your automatic to essentially powershift. Lots of options with it, pseudo-line lock, ability to reset adaptives on the fly, firmness settings for both auto stick and automatic modes and you can turn it off on the fly, like when my wife is in the car and griping about her neck lol!
Anyways, it's 250 from zautotech but worth it, imo. Can break traction on the 2-3 shift when set high enough hehe.

my 05 rt gets secoundwith the 93cai tune and the trans set to mode 1. im sure ur srt will have no problems
but only if im manually shfting it
All SRTs, R/Ts and some SXTs have the Nag1. You can run the Tranzformer with the Predator tuning if you so desire. Many do use both.

Potato potahto lol. Same tranny. The predator does not change the shifting if our srt8 's since we already have modified Tcm's, unless you manually change things like shift points, etc.
The tranzformer will set shift points at 6k rpms at wot, stock. You can change the setting for it via a laptop, if desired.
I've been using the intune without any modifications to the tranny and using the tranzformer without issue for a couple weeks now. Haven't run across problems with it yet!

Well, part of yesterday was dry enough...and I had a 3 hour drive on I-80, so I had plenty of opportunities to open her up. I attempted the slapstick shifting...but I gotta figure out where to shift, because I am used to driving a manual where as soon as you shift gears, you are shifted into a gear....with the slapstick I tried shifting like I would a manual, and the lag between where I was shifting at and where it rev limits was bridged...so I kept hitting the rev limiter looking like a dumbass. I was attempting to shift just before I hit the 6K RPM, and at about 6.5K/7K is where the limiter hits...so, where are you guys shifting at to avoid this?
Anyways, with that said, I just left it into regular auto shift and played around, and I don't know if my tires actually "chirped", but I do know my rear end slid out from me a few times hitting second gear...so something fun is definately going on back there![]()
At my buddy's shop last night rotating tires, installing my pocket sub enclosures, running some wires, painting my ABS cover, all sorts of fun. A friend of my buddy shows up who is a Mustang owner about a half hour before I leave. My buddy is talking up my car and everything to this guy and wanting me to "show what it can do". The guy was like, eh...my Mustang can take him...it's a wagon. So, I back out of the shop into the parking lot area, turn my ESP off and whip a couple donuts boiling my freshly rotated tires into a smoky plume of awesome-ness, straighten out onto the street, and roll them over going up the hill and around the corner. I get turned around, come back to the shop and the guy was like it sounded like you barely even got on it and it did that! All the way up the hill even! I'm not even gonna bother running them, all I know is I want one now LOL! Another Magnum convert!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My buddy was laughing, and cursing at the same time that the property owner that he rents the shop from is going to be pissed about the blackies and he's gonna drag the powerwasher out...but it was worth it![]()
