a few of us found the part for like $70 on ebay. Simple install too...just DONT TIGHTEN THE 3 SCREWS ALL THE WAY DOWN!(on the actual part) ...it will unwind the coil inside, then you'll have to guess about how much to re-wind it back up.

Please enlighten an old man, what the heck is a clockspring and what is it doing in the steering wheel/column????

It has nothing to do with the clock, so why is it called a CLOCKspring???

What is it's purpose??

The "clockspring" is a rotary electrical connector that allows the steering wheel to turn while maintaining electrical contact with the horn, airbag, audio control buttons, etc.
