I have a 2008 SE and it has one of those Mercedes style keys. Gradually, over the last 2 weeks I've noticed that when I try to start my car there is a 2/3 second delay before the car actually kicks over and turns on. I thought maybe the key was defective so I swapped it out with my spare one. The weird thing is when I swapped remote keys it started right up at first, but it is now starting to delay again. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Any feedback is much appreciated, I'm trying to avoid a trip to the stealership.

I also have an 08 and have never had that problem...... yet.. I think I would get a new battery for the first remote and see if that makes any difference.....

My 07 was only startin up quickly about 1/4 of the time. I replaced the battery and it helped a lot, but it still has its moments.

Seems like many underestimate the toll aftermarket electronics take on the electrical system.
