Electrical issues? Need advice/Help

OK... I noticed this issue I have been having for a few months.
It started with stupid things like, driving the car all of a sudden a power loss, the gauges died but then started up.
Prior to that, at night, starting it up, the auto day/night light sensor would not work and I would have to manually put the headlights on.
I know, " you lazy bastard" but so what...
That's what I thought, so I did it manually...
Next, I would start it up, it would drive fine but then i noticed all of my gauges were dead.
No gas, no tach, no spedometer..
Wierd......
Now I start it, it would start then die, start up again then die.
So now I only turn on the ACC, look at the gauges, if they jump up that means I can start it up. If they don't jump then I can't start it..
Yesterday while driving I had total powerloss, engine died then it kicked back on...

ANy thoughts, suggestions or horror stories woul be greatly appriciated..
I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road and have some pussy Mustang stroll by and laugh...

Thanks

i had similar issues with my 2.7 se, they went on for about 2 weeks before i got a chech engine light, i forget the code, possibly p0345, if i remeber correctly, but it was a crank sensor..being i had a boy at the dealership, he brought it in, and put a new one in, and 50 bucks later sent me on my way..been good ever since..

what engine do u have?

the crank sensorr is easy to replace and its pretty cheap, lookng up from under the car, feet hanging out the front of the car, head by the trans, and the sensor is just left of the trans, near the altenator i was told, havent looked my self though..
I got me the Hemi 5.7.
No check engine light is on yet....

I can't fight crime tonight if the Batmobile won't start up !!!

I will look into that sensor....
Did you check the obvious stuff first? Tighten the battery terminals; look for moisture around your control modules and connections leading to them. Then start looking into a dash disassembly...
All is tight, there hasn't been rain in weeks and no condentation seen anywhere.
"dash disassembly"
Oh, crap that sounds like a long weekend......
I think I will find someone with a computer reader, but that won't see anything unless there is a jerk engine light on, right?
So that won't say much....
I had a similar issue once. I had used one of the underhood fuses as a power tap for a fan mod. When I disconnected the fan mod, I pulled the power tap off the fuse. Turns out that the fuse I tapped off of was for the ignition coil packs. The fuse became loose when the tap was removed. When the fuse vibrated and lost contact, the coil packs wouldn't get power and everything died. It was really weird because it would happen out of the blue at random times.
I discovered it by going to the fuse box and jiggling things around while the car was running.
If you've done any electrical work (stereo, etc.) I'd look to the connections and grounds. I bet something came loose.
OMG.... electrical issues.... been there done that!!!
In fact still doing it.... we bought our SXT used only later to find out it was a flood car.... had tons of things replaced... ~ it's running at the moment!!! LOL
That's what I was afraid of... When electrical does stuff that is not constant or happens randomly .. that sucks!!!

I remember one time when I first bought it, the brake light would flicker and ding.. not all the time and it was spuratic.
I checked the fluids, and every thing else.
I figured it out that when the wife drive it, (first mistake) she slightly hit the emergengy brake just enough that the light would flicker, thinking th eE brake was on...
Freeking a! a week of aggrivation with the Magnum and a lifetime with the wife!!!
Still having electrical issues

I checked everythign for a loose connection.
Does anyone have an electrical diagram of the Magnum 2006?
I will have to see if it may be a faulty relay or something along that line.
It continues to bother me...
FYI.. this is all stock, no alarm, no added stereo eq., no remote start...

Thanks

I am having the same issue. I got the car from my son-in-law and they had issues with it from driving down the road all the sudden the car would just turn off. I thought this would be a simple fix and I'm pretty good electrical wiring. I have had the fuse box replaced because the previous owner before my son-in-law wired a radio in there and screwed it up. And I thought I had the issue fixed and a few days later my headlights were messed up. When starting up the car I would have the low beam on the passenger side and the high beam was on on the driver side. So I figured maybe I have to go in there and take a look at the wiring for the headlights. While I was fooling with this I found myself a stopping point it was hot outside so I turned the car on. I wanted to test the AC to see if it worked so I turned it on. And as soon as I did everything on the dash with haywire. Every light came on speedometer jumped up the tachometer went back and forth a few times. At this point in time I have come to a complete stop. Every turn I see a Mercedes emblem. I do have the 3.5 L and I do understand Mercedes has had their hands on this. And Mercedes is known for their electrical issues. I am at a loss and if you're telling me a crank sensor was your fix I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. Pretty much everything on this car has been a surprise. Has anybody else run into this issue or had a different fix?

All dashboards failed? Has this been the case before?
