My dog was barking like crazy at a guy on my front porch. I thought it might be a salesman or or some one trying to get me to do some sort of home improvement. I stepped outside to see what he wanted and found out he was a "Recall Specialist" from Mopar. He had seen my Magnum and gave me a notification of an airbag recall. "Defective airbag parts can explode, spraying sharp metal fragments at drivers and passengers. This can cause SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH"

After talking to him he called the local Dodge Dealer and set up an appointment to have my airbags replaced on warranty on Monday morning. I'm not sure that Chrysler even knew that I bought the Magnum since I bought it used with 140,000 miles on the odometer. I'm thinking that I was lucky that he happened to see my car and let me know about the recall!

You can check the car fax, register your magnum on the “my Mopar”app, go the nhsta.gov website, all three of these will give you any info on recalls on your vehicle. I use the Mopar app and the only recalls is the airbags, which have been completed.

When I go into the Doge dealer later on this morning to have the air bag recall work completed, the car will be registered with Chrysler. I guess I should get the recall notifications if there are any more. I quit using the Dodge dealer when they charged me $970.00 to change out 4 o2 sensors on a Dakota v6. If the O'Reilly computer had actually shown 4 o2 sensors for a Dakota v6 instead of 2, and they had actually sold me all 4 sensors, I would have changed them out myself. They are not that hard to reach on a Dakota, but since the O'Reilly computer was wrong and the two sensors that they sold me were for the right side and I was starting with the left side. In addition I needed to take the truck up into the mountains a couple of days later, so I took the sensors back to the parts store, and took it to Dodge to get the correct parts installed. I discovered that Dodge made the left side opposite from the right side so that the 4 sensor can not be interchanged.

When I was into GM 3rd gen F-body cars (Camaro & Firebird) I frequented a thirdgen board that had a sub forum dedicated to GM recalls that applied to the F-body cars. Compared to the F-body board that I used to frequent before I sold my Firebird, this board is like a "ghost town."

The airbag recall is the only one I know of for the Magnums. I had mine done at the dealership a few months ago
