Took the 05, V-6, sealed transmission in to the dealer with "check engine" light.
Transmission code. Dealer quoted a tad less than $4,000.
Paid $3,000 for the car one year ago. Then $2,000 replacing the timing chains, gears, water pump, etc.
So we've spent $5,000 on a car worth $5,000 (that we like). Now $4,000 more.
Trade in or invest in the Magnum?

Haven't posted in awhile.
Ended up keeping the Magnum and buying a 4runner.
So son has been driving the Magnum, it was doing fine. Then it just quit on him going down the road.
It cranks but no start. A squirt of starting fluid and it runs for a few seconds. Aha! Fuel pump. Nope.
Replaced the pump with the filter, both make noise with the key on, but still no start.
Any ideas? Maybe the computer not triggering the injectors?
Alternative it dragging it to the wrecking yard.

Haven't hauled it off yet. Just sitting there baking in the AZ sun.
Put the battery on a charger (no pun) and it won't charge up.
Bought a new battery. Maybe that will allow the computer to work correctly and trigger the injectors.
If not, we then have a 2nd battery for one of our running vehicles and the Magnum can sit. Or go to the crusher eventually.

Replaced the other fuel pump so both are now new.
And it now starts and runs again.
Now to sell it.
