Hi,

I'm looking to increase the efficiency of my '05 R/T Hemi, and am thinking of installing an upgraded throttle body.
Like an 85mm or 90mm unit from BBK.

With only 'Stage 1' mods so far (intake / exhaust / Diablo tune) is the 85mm better than a 90mm?

Would I need to get a new Diablo tune written to take into account the larger throttle body, or will the engine management be able to cope and take advantage of it as it is?

What sort of benefits would I expect to see?
Noticeable power increase? Any influence on fuel consumption?

Do people think they are a worthwhile modification?

Any views would be welcomed.

Thank you.
Regards - D

I haven't gotten to that point yet, however... I expect that I probably will in another couple of years.
(Last year was a Cat-Back Exhaust. This year, I'm planning on Headers and Tuner.)
I think that the 90mm is a bit big for the 5.7 and more suited for the 6.1.
I will most likely go with the 85mm.
I have NOT done ANY research on the subject. This is just personal opinion.
I just want a little more... Rather than spend the money on a "gobs of power" build.

Go with the 85 mm or you can get your current throttle body ported to 84 mm too, that's an option I went with. Billet Technology used to port then for like $100.
