I've got a 2007 Magnum R/T.

Anyone ever put a radar detector fit inside the overhead console (where the 2 lights & garage door opener is located)?

I don't have OnStar (no buttons for it on the rear view mirror), so maybe that frees up some space in the overhead?

Thinking of the Escort Redline, with the remote control cord for muting it--so I don't really need easy access to the buttons or display on the radar detector.

My idea is to 100% conceal the radar detector--I'm open to other ideas to do it.

I figure the laser sensors just won't work. The radar...I'm hoping that if there is only the headliner in front of the detector, it could pick up the radar through the headliner.

Radar detectors are going to need a clear view of the road. Any obstruction will interfere with the detection. I wouldn't recommend it. Great idea though.

What Greg said. I have mine mounted right next to the rear view mirror and its hardwired into my cig lighter. Works wonders for me.

i have mine in the cornre of the windshield on the drivers side as low as it can go, only use it when i am about to do some having to to much fun to be legal so its not hard wired but the cord is tucked in between the upper and lower dash pieces so its 100% concealed. So far i have only been pulled over once and i didnt get a ticket but i was not on, the police officer never saw it down in that corner as you have to be almost in my seat or in front of the car to see it. In this spot i get great warning on radar and laser lock. Those lasers can get you a long way away as i learned in my old car with this detector, cop had to be over a mile in front of me and he locked me in, so you really need that feature! lol

That is a good idea, thanks...also with it mounted there, the lit up radar detector display won't be visible to the police from directly behind--your body and that higher part of the dashboard will block his view of the radar detector.

Same here and and on every car I have had for a while now.
Putting it high to catch potential "overspray" from the cars in front of you.
As well as a better signal toward the rear.
Putting it next to the rear view makes it a little harder to see for theives and catches your eyes better as you look at the mirror.:cool5:

Got a V1 with front and rear radar so I guess it it the best place

Also route a permanent the wire
