Hi all,
I have a 2005 dodge magnum 2.7 and There is this weird shake in the rear end.
to answer some basic questions that immediately come up:
shes got 180k on her.
yes all tires are balanced.
none of the lugnuts are loose.
tires are 6 months old and do not have any bubbles in the tread.
alignment is good.

so here's the issue, When I am cruising (one constant speed, not on cruise control) between 40-50MPH, it feels like the rear end is shaking, not hard (like i'm going over rough patches on the road). if i let off the gas or accelerate, the shake stops. it does not shake under 40 or over 50mph.
so any one got any ideas of what is going on?

You need to jack it up and check it out or take it to a mechanic. These cars have an independent rear suspension. It could be worn suspension bushings, or drive shaft has gone out of balance. Typically, the drive shaft is balanced with a small weight welded to one side. With the car jacked up in neutral, turn the drive shaft slowly by hand to see if the weight came off. Drive shafts are usually painted black after the weight is welded on. If the weight came off you should see a small rectangle of rust or bare metal where the weight used to be. I'm not sure if the weight is at the front or rear of the drive shaft, but I think it is in front near where the shaft comes out of the trans.
