I was wondering how to remove the front face area that surrounds the nav, center air vents, temperature control knobs etc. etc.
I am thinking of going "MadDad" on my interior but want to start with baby steps.
Here is a picture with highlighted white lines of the area I am referring to.

Easy but scary the first time..open your ash tray and then take your hand and grab the bottom of the bezel and just give it a tug (straight out, do not pull with an upward motion. it is held on by spring clips that will give with a tug and you are good to go.

^^ Strykker is all over it!

It does feel like its gonna break but you'll be OK.... I like to point the vents down and pull gently below the vents as well. There are two clips under the vents, a clip on ech side of the nav and two clips down by the ashtray

Looks like another one has caught MadDad fever.:223:

I just put the last coat of clear on my cargo pieces and am waiting for it to dry now....hopefully the rain holds off long enough so i can get them in.

Thanks for all of the responses guys. I guess it's on now. Bring on the baby steps.

I found a local auto paint supply store and went in with a ton of questions for the guy behind the counter.

He was very patient and very helpful. Tomorrow I will go and make the investment.

...wish me luck.

Be careful with the wire harness that plugs into the climate control. there is a red clip that you have to lift up and then a little piece behind it that you have to push in so you can unplug it. I ended up breakin off the little red clip and had to get a new harness becuase it would rattle itself loose. Good luck

Thanks for the heads up.
It's funny as far as your timing because I just went out to remove the bezel and not only the bezel came off but so did the vents and the climate control knob assembly.
Was'nt expecting that. I was under the impression that just the bezel was gonna come off by itself.
I am gonna regroup later today or tomorrow on this. I just got off of a 10 hour graveyard shift and the lighting in the garage is very bad. I would take it outside but the weather is not cooperating.

Thank you again. I will take a closer look at it later.

Also watch out for the bottom corners, as mine scratched the bezel on the ashtray and 2 side pieces.

After getting some sleep this afternoon I went out and was able to get the cable harness assemblys off and everything seperated.
....the project is back in motion.

I didn't know I was contagious! Maybe I shouldn't be allowed out in public or quarantied in a plastic bubble? Good luck Magmania -- I can't wait to see pictures. You won't be able to stop with the bezel once you see it.
