Exhaust Guide

It appears that the topic of exhaust systems comes up quite often, so I was thinking that we should try to compile a "guide" of setups used by members here.

It would be good if you could list your engine size and exhaust system used, maybe add some notes on performance and of course a video, or a sound clip of the system in use.

Great idea. Maybe if it collects enough we can make a sticky out of it so we can use it to refer exhaust ?'s to this thread.

-Dual Zoomer's
-3.5L engine+K&N CAI
-Beastly sound
-Noticeable power increase (no Dyno)-Zoomer's dynoed 14hp for single exhaust

By Far the BEST set up for a 3.5L, sounds so mean!
That's what I'm saving up for

Thanks Giantchief!

I was hoping the idea would catch on and for this to be a sticky. . . It was just when I was looking for info on exhaust setups I noticed 3-4 of the exact same posts within the next day. I guess with enough searching the answers could be found but it would be easier if we had everything in one location.

There has to be more out there. . . Magnaflow? Flowmaster? Blastin' Bobs?. .

-Great sound!
-Not sure about power increase

I will have to add a picture later

Flowmaster 40's and no resonators. Good low rumble and wicked sound at WOT - absolutely perfect for in town. A little 'drone' issue at 70+MPH highway. I'm considering some sort of resonated tips that might help with that issue.
No pics or vids yet... I'll see what I can do

I assume you didn't replace any piping other than taking out the resonators? What about headers, do you have them?

The Zoomer exhaust sounds great but how did you do you rear exit? My SXT only has one exit for an exhaust. Did you shave it or buy a new bumper?

Ya I was worried about it but Jayalbert helped out. I made a cut out of the right hole with cardboard and measured it on the opposite side. I used a drummel and cut out the hole. Very easy, about 1/2 hour job

Well, I have my list ready for the mods I'm about to do to my Magnum. Of course, one of the bigger improvements will be going from single to dual exhaust. While narrowing down my choices, I've come across a complete Dynomax Super Turbo Cat-Back Dual kit at a price too good to refuse. One quick question. What performance differences are there between a "true dual" system and a "single in - dual out" system. Friend of mine is trying to talk me into a Flowmaster single in dual out system versus the Dynomax (true dual) system mentioned earlier. I tend to lean toward the Dynomax.

Beans for input.

^^Im actually planning on doing a single in dual out flowmaster 40 and turn down tips at the differential...all sneaky like. I kinda want true duals but I REALLY want sound. That and my friend from work is giving me a deal on the muffler, he had it on his truck for like 2 months but he decided to run straight pipes instead so Im taking it off his hands. And hes gonna do the install for free :)

However I do have a question...here it is

What is the pipe diameter on the 3.5 going into the suitcase muffler?

A great (to me) sounding exhaust is one that I have not heard in many years. Don't remember what it's called, BUT when under acceleration they had a deep rumble, and when the car was coming down in rpm's it had a crackling sound to it. I used to hear them on cars from the 50's and maybe early 60's. Now that's something Maggie Blue wants very badly, and as we all know.......what our Maggies want, our Maggies get.

Thanks for the input and the PM's on the exhaust choices. I picked up a DynoMax Dual Super-Turbo system (#19422) today at a smokin' good price. So with that and the K&N CAI which is on it's way....all I have to do is wait for the Diablo ($$$ wise) and I'm set.
